20 Types of Evidence You May Encounter as a Paralegal

Your natural sense of curiosity and penchant for investigating mysteries may be what draw you toward the legal field when contemplating your career options. While the extended years of schooling required to become a lawyer may not be a realistic path for you, the prospect of a paralegal career can still be quite appealing. And paralegals need to know about the types of evidence they may be working with.

Working Remotely and COVID-19

We all thought that the year 2020 was going to be a SPECTACULAR year when we rang it in, in January!

The year started off, for me, very motivating to intertwine some “new” into my business. My business goal for 2020 was to focus more on the marketing side of things. The reason for this goal was to introduce to the legal world that “hey, legal files can be manipulated virtually-we do not need those accordion file folders full of papers, or the banker’s boxes full of case info!” That was my goal for 2020: to make the legal world aware of how a virtual paralegal can help attorneys.

For those of you that are not local to Knoxville, Weigel’s is a local gas station with locations all over Knox County, Tennessee.

Mr. Weigel served on the board at the Salvation Army for over 40 years. He and his two children started the Weigel’s Family Christmas in December 1999. This program is all about GIVING BACK! It enables children in need to have an exciting Christmas experience; when sometimes their families can’t afford gifts, a meal or even sometimes just providing attention that the kids need.

How Did KPS Start?

Let me first introduce myself. I am Brooke M. Govert, Founder of KPS and an experienced paralegal with over 14 years in the legal field. I remember when I went to college that book they give you to “choose a major.” Yes, times have changed since I entered college in 2001. I attended a local community college, Pellissippi State Technical Community College, where I was sure I would get my general education credits and move on. Back to “that book.” It had every major listed. I remember I had arrived on registration day with my mom and we were flipping through “the book” together. At that moment, she said “I think you will be GREAT in legal studies.”
